Day 1 Recap

Eating LC Day 1...

It wasn't to bad, but I really wanted some ice cream and wine at the end of the day. Could it have something to do with 4 screaming kids? I think so. See I have identified my triggers. I'm killing it

Breakfast (9a): Jimmy Dean Frittas
Snack (11a): Jimmy Dean Frittas
Lunch (3:30p): Deviled Eggs (3 eggs total) and a slice of Deli Turkey
Dinner 1 (6p): Caesar Salad with Parm Cheese and Bacon
Dinner 2 (9:30p): 2 slices of Cheese and 2 slices of Deli Ham
Late Night Snack (3a): Nature Valley Sweet and Salty Granola bar

These frittatas come in a box of 6 with 3 packs of two. Each pack has 10 gm of carbs so not to bad. You probably could make them lower yourself but I can't really beat the ease of something that takes 1:40 in the microwave. I have tried the bacon and spinach and the turkey sausage and bacon ones. Both are good, so I usually grab a pack of each. And while they are filling, it doesn't really last me a full 4 hours.

I would post a picture of what I made but they looked kind of gross...so meme it is! I add Duke's Mayo, Dijon mustard and sugar free pickle relish to the egg yolks. Mix it up and viola you have shots of food. There are a ton of recipes on the internet so I won't bore you. Plus I just eye ball my measurements so it wouldn't be accurate anyways .I had one slice of deli turkey so I ate that as well just to finish it up.

To make a good Caesar Salad, all you need is creamy dressing, bacon and parmesan cheese. Oh and lettuce.

Who are we kidding? My Caesar salad isn't "healthy" but it is lower carb. I ate a whole heart of romaine with a few tablespoons of dressing with a sprinkle of bacon and cheese. The dressing is 2 gm for two tablespoons, and romaine is 1 gm per cup. My guess is I hit about 10 gm +/-. This meal makes me feel like I'm not dieting, but as I lose weight and have to be a little more careful to keep weight loss going I may have to tighten up on my measuring.

And finally...my late night snack. I wouldn't really suggest eating these if you are LC, but I was up breastfeeding and the thought of eating cheese was sorta demoralizing. So I grabbed one of these bars. It is filling, has 20 gm of carbs and lifted my tired tired spirits. I'm calling it a win all around. Preferably I won't be snacking at night, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Stats...sort of & some Goals

Weight, measurements, body fat %...who has time for that? Well a lot of people, but I don't. I know roughly about how many lb I need to lose to be "healthy". But health is more than weight. For me, pre-eclamsia left me with high blood pressure. Blood pressure meds are not fun to take and I don't want to take them anymore. Number 1 way to lower BP....LOSE WEIGHT. Diet and exercise come in a 2 and 3.

Obviously these all play in-together. So for now, my goals are

  • Lose 60 lbs
  • Build up cardio strength/finish a 30 minute barre3 exercise without breaks
  • Size 12/14 ( what 75% of my current closest is)
  • Have my bp under 120/80 WITHOUT medication

Well that is inspiring.

Much better. So yes, I won't put my real weight on the interwebz because I don't want to. But I will put how much I lost each week, how many workout and that stuff. It isn't for you, it is for me. Accountability remember? Feel free to leave a comment if there is any info (other than my waist or weight) that you might find interesting.

Working Out with Barre3

With my 4th pregnancy I was diagnosed with pre-eclamsia. This means I had over 20lbs of water retained, was on hospital bed rest, and finally ended up delivering 7 weeks early. Thankfully baby girl is a-ok, but my body took a big hit.
Feet should not look like this
I am now 2 months post-partum. Time to start working on the core, arms, legs, butt...oh everything.

No. No I don't Anna. Thanks for asking. But since I am an adult, with 4 dependents, I better get in shape. In come Barre3. I had tried home exercising programs in the past, but they always get boring. With Barre3, there are new workouts posted every week! Yes, e.v.e.r.y. week.

The best part of Barre3 is that they have 10 minute workouts. They even encourage doing 10 minutes. So I have challenged myself to do 10 minutes every day. This will help me get in the habit of making time everyday. Hopefully it will help jump start my weight loss, build up some strength and help me be consistent.

I'll do a more in-depth  post once I have done more than 5 workouts. But so far I am enjoying it (and dying).

Blogging for Accountability

So there have been some changes since my last post. I am not the proud mother of 4 girls!

Unfortunately for me, that means there is a lot of baby weight to lose. Doing back to back (to back, to back) pregnancies is no joke.

I have less than a year before I turn 30. 4 kids before 30, not bad right ;) Time to get serious about getting back into shape. So I'm going back to blogging to help stay accountable. However, this time, I am not writing about Whole30 only.

I'm not sure what is going to work. I am breastfeeding  so I have to be conscious of that too. But I'm starting with low(er) carb. Think less than 100gm a day. I'll figure out the rest as I go along.

Finally, I need to exercise. Boo, I don't want to. But I'll write a post about that. But don't worry, I won't become one of those gym rats. Just no.
